What the kitten?

So, recently, I began seeing the word kitten pop up all over the place on the GW2 forums. Thinking it was just a new meme making its rounds, I ignored it for a while. Today, I just read this post here https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/foru...e/1#post196497

Here is a C/P pf the devs text:

The word kitten is part of our profanity filter. If you do find what you believe are errors in filtering, please report them here.
When reporting, please keep in mind the filter includes words that are insulting and racially insensitive as well as vulgar.

So, basically, anytime someone chooses to swear on the forums (and possibly in game) the filtered words become kitten.
Instead of the usually "what the ******* *** you ******* ******" you get "what the kittening kitten you kittening kittens"

I find it rather amusing and comical.

One other posters post caught my eye. He was trying to type "First watch Irregular Company" but typed "Firstwatch Irregular Company" and it showed up as "Firskittench Irregular Company"

Well that is certainly a new take on filtering. Should be interesting if it cuts down on profanity or increases it as the person rages out about being forced to post/talk about kitten's.

Wait maybe that woman from the now infamous e-harmony video is working one GW2.

Meh people will find ways around it just like they did with cross faction chat in WoW. Oh there is a good story behind that but I wont take the thunder from the OP on his kittening find lol.

It should be some sort of babblefish translation... Like WTF... F = Fish => What the fish! People would definitely have some fun making up obscene sentences just to see the translation!

LOL... Missing my intent... Just some random generator that would take the actual word be filtered and turn it into something totally different. Fish is just my sad attempt at trying to translate Fudge. :P
