Have you ever thought that you can level up your character to the max level by just crafting? It sounds impossible because crafting seems just an add-on profession in most MMOs. Well, it now can be achieved in Guild Wars 2 as ArenaNet designer Linsey Murdock stated in a recent forum post, players will be able to level it all the way to 80 without killing a thing but crafting.According to Murdock, it works like this: "For leveling a discipline from 0-400, you will gain 10 levels along the way. By maxing out all 8 disciplines, you will gain 80 levels. That means you could dedicate a character to crafting, feed it all the mats you get on other characters and level it all the way to 80 without ever needing to kill a thing. As hardcore crafters, we think that is pretty cool."Many players shared their concern about that. Some players thought this will turn Guild Wars 2 into a P2W game since players can pay real money for gems and exchange the gems into gold and then buy all the crafting ingredients to level the character to 80. Others thought it is definitely not P2W although it increases the leveling speed. It provides another option for those crafting enthusiasts and this system will finally reward all their hard work and dedication. What do you say? Welcome to comment below.

If you can't dazzle them with your skills,

After reading that article and the associated GW2 forum thread, I have to laugh out loud at the silliness of these trolls (most likely from WoW, since that game seems to have garnered such a collectively low IQ over the years since its release) trying to flame GW2.

Hey, leave my craft leveling warrior alone Tox, he's very happy crafting and random acts of pvp.
Actually Lheiah had asked if this was possible last night, and I figured it must be. I know in EQ2 you could max level crafting only. This article is a bit deceiving in you'd have to do ALL professions, but you can still max level.
As I love crafting I know I'll being trying to max level all professions.

It's pretty funny... I've only done the hearts in beginning area and explored the cities. I think I finished at level 11. So it doesn't seem too far fetched. They made the leveling super easy. I think my son went AFK near an event area and leveled twice. I think his pet kept him in combat. They might have made leveling a bit too easy, but I really haven't tested it yet.
"One part fact, one part fiction, but 100% BULL!"

It's funny you say that Bull, that's what I thought the leveling/xp seems pretty fast, but there are alot of people complaining that it's not enough!
As for recipes (off the GW2 wiki)
A Recipe is a list of materials which combine to create a specific item via crafting. There are four ways to learn recipes:
- From a crafting trainer.
- From the Mystic Forge vendor Miyani.
- By increasing rank in the crafting discipline (leveling).
- Via trial and error using the discovery tab at a crafting station.
I tried the discovery way with cooking in BW1 and only made two types of soup, then found out I had the recipe. /sigh fun though.
