Ole Blizzard's slowly, but surely going off the deep end.. They should have this stuff perfected by now, it's almost as if they're like "We got our monies, we'll fix it Soon™"
Anyways hope they fix it, sucks not being able to play a new game.
It's a fun game when I can play, but lag in a single player game and servers going down often is ridiculous! I'm still in Act 2 on Normal.
Yep, I think the merger with Activision is when the decline started. WoW isn't nearly as fun and challenging as it used to be. Sure, it's nice being able to get in dungeons faster, but the dungeons are too easy and boring. No CC really required anymore, even in heroics.
The focus is on profits now and less on game quality. World PvP is pretty much dead. The community is pretty terrible. Leveling is too easy.
I'm sure the online only DRM is not only to thwart piracy, but also to make the RMAH legit and make Blizzard money too.
This wouldn't be so bad if the servers could handle the load, but what a terrible launch... The game is fun when you can play it though. I'm looking forward to Arena PVP.
I hope they realize that focusing on profits and compromising quality will eventually lead to less profits. I see a lot of parallels to Activision's COD games. Not enough newer stuff in successive games and not enough being done to stop cheaters.
I'm sorry to hear that, but experiences may vary, and unfortunately I'm not the brains to speak to about what you can do to fix it.
My experience has been almost the complete opposite. Yes, getting logged in on day 1 at launch was a bust. Yes, I had a lot of crashes of unknown origin on day 1. Yes, I had a buggy launcher and no tech support whatsoever.
But after the second maintenance and my finally finding answers on the forum from other players, I haven't had any problems. I've only experienced one disconnect and that was just mildly inconvient. No lag. No crashes. No queues. And I'm playing over 8 hours a day, usually when I wake up to when I go to sleep, with a couple breaks to eat.
1 bad day to 4 great days and counting.
And if you were wondering, I too am still in Act 2 on normal for my highest toons. That's just a matter of choice. I intend to level my toons more equally, and with gear being as important as it is, I'm not rushing to the finish until I'm good and ready.

Sith and I sit in the same room, our computers are networked, I am wireless and his pc is hardwired. I am not having any issues at all. He is having disconnects constantly. We tried other games and he is fine. Only on D3 does he have issues. But we are enjoying the game. It reminds me of a cross between D1 and BG1.

D1 is such a sexy game, I miss those days... Pk, Pkk, Mk, Gmk all freaking day long!
Half time looked a bit like this:
/spoof
/oob
/lol
Probably the worst thing I did, was told a clan mate (whom a friend, and I didn't like) that I had a new dat file that would kill BoBaFeTT's godmode, the new pita cheat, after Raymond's trainer.. Thanks to Techwarriors handy work :) some of us did have it - but... What I sent him wasn't a dat file, it was Backdoor Orifice. Er yeah, completely deleted everything he needed to start windows... Such a dick move, I remember like 3 months later he comes into IRC, and was complaining his parents wouldn't get his PC fixed, it crashed out of no where, and wouldn't start up.
Every time I get a nasty virus, I relate it to that as karma - me being an A-hole all those years ago. Sure was funny, and fun though.
So, I was just playing. I logged in and played for about a half hour and then the server shut down for "scheduled maintenance." I never saw any alert on the screen when I logged in. I guess it's similar to the WoW maintenance, but for a single player game and for 8 hours! Pretty ridiculous IMO. I always thought the weekly WoW maintenance was pretty ridiculous too, but it's more understandable vs. single player Diablo 3.
Trying to beat this and then go back to LotRO.
