A new poll option has been added to the options:
"I'm still undecided based on the applicant's feedback thus far."
Applications come in all the time, some are approved fairly rapidly as they are grand slam applications, shining examples of what we're looking for in a member.
Then there are others, that are the extreme obvious opposite, and hit the declined bucket fairly quickly as well.
And finally there are those applications that sit for weeks, with very little feedback or response. I'm guessing this is due to members remaining undecided on their vote. Many times a little more information from the applicant will resolve the "undecided" issues. The new poll option is intended to prompt applicants who are monitoring their app, and inspire them to elaborate more, or provide more feedback.
New poll option aside, as always the best way to get your questions and concerns answered from an applicant is become involved with the process, make a post and ask them directly. Filtering bad apples is much better long before they join the bunch. No one will fault you for pointing out an issue with an application, that may be hanging you up, or keeping you in an undecided state. It is after all, for the good of the community.

That would be a great option.
Part of the problem I've seen is getting people that are NOT forum-focused to come back and check their apps. I don't think it's lazy or uncaring, they just aren't forum types. I haven't come up with a solution, short of saying go check your app or else. (We do have a guest designation in TSW for those in the app process).
The other is that the general HFC membership do NOT look at the apps period, but especially not for games they don't play. It can be time consuming to go through all of them, I know I don't/can't, but if everyone went through1 or 2 or 3 a week, we'd have more feedback about potential team mates from a variety of Clan Members.
The way I look at it App A might be applying for GW2, but could very well end up on Rift or TSW or ? I'd like to know a bit about them upfront.
If you can't dazzle them with your skills,
then bamboozle them with your footwork!

It's funny you mention this, as it must have been the same time I was adding another question to the app process. You'll see the new addition; second to the last question. http://www.hammerfistclan.com/forum/...?do=form&fid=2
While this isn't an exact foolproof method of getting new applicants to check apps, it does plant the seed that we are somewhat encouraging forum participation, and discouraging fire-and-forget app drive-by type submissions.

Those are both great additions Brak. Hopefully that extra question will garner a little more participation.

Nice additions, Snidely, thank you.

Excellent. May a thousand pies land in your yard.

Yeah people need to check application. Maybe have a statement somewhere for applicants to know that they need to check forums for approval process and provide feedback.
Thanks for keeping up on stuff Brakkish.
